What is BBL HEROic?
BBL HEROic is a BroadBand Light device, which means it delivers a wide spectrum of filtered light that your provider narrows to hit a specific target. The name stands for High Energy Rapid Output with Intelligent Control, and that last piece, Intelligent Control, is what separates it from the pulsed light devices that came before.
The physics is simpler than it sounds. Light enters the skin and structures called chromophores absorb it. Melanin takes up one range of wavelengths and the hemoglobin in blood vessels takes up another. Each one turns that light into a small, contained burst of heat that breaks apart a pigment cluster or collapses a vessel while the skin around it stays calm. One handpiece can move from a brown spot to a broken capillary in the same visit, because the filter swaps in seconds.
What makes HEROic a smart pulsed light device?

Does BBL HEROic hurt, and what is recovery like?
Most clients describe the feeling as a warm flick against the skin, close to a light rubber band snap. The handpiece holds a sapphire crystal cooled by CoolComfort technology, which chills the surface while letting light pass through to its target, so numbing cream is usually unnecessary.
